CAPS MILESTONE + EXPANSION

CF CAPS has reached a major milsetone— over 1,000 student-associates served since 2017! This spring, Cedar Valley CAPS is also expanding, welcoming Hudson as the fifth district alongside Denver, Charles City, Wapsie Valley, and Jesup. This growth reflects our commitment to providing transformative experiences for students and strengthening community partnerships.

IN THE NEWS: Medical Immersion Week

Cedar Falls CAPS Medical student-associates take part in Immersion Week, gaining hands-on experience at healthcare facilities across the Cedar Valley. PROJECT HIGHLIGHT

From Project to Profession: A CAPS Success Story—

One of our original CAPS Projects with Kryton Metals continues to make an impact! What began as a step stool redesign evolved into real business results— improving efficiency, generating profit, and launching a student’s career. A former CAPS student-associate earned an internship, received paid college tuition, and now works full-time at Kryton, leading current CAPS projects. COMMUNITY PARTNERS:

Design Sprint

Each semester, CAPS kicks off with a Design Sprint, partnering with a local business or organization to tackle a real-world challenge. This semester, the Cedar Falls Public Library (CFPL) tasked student-associates with creating a more engaging social media strategy. Teams brainstormed solutions and pitched content and vision board plans to a panel of Cedar Valley professionals. A CAPS II Education team will now refine the selected plan. Community partners like CFPL fuel our program, providing experiences that inspire innovation and problem-solving.
